Afforestation in China

The Green Forest China Co.Ltd. was foundet in the year 2007 with the intent of using fallow lying areas to plant trees on. The MWT GmbH stands with advise by the company.

The Situation

Today they need a much bigger protection, last but not least because of the climate change like the global warming. The goverment of china recognized these problems and set higher and higher values on ecology. For example there go legal and fiscal benefits to companies and private persons, which plants trees. Annually flows several milliards Yuan of the exchequer into forestry and attends as issue of subvention. There were passed bills against forbidden forest grubbing and implement tightened sanction at the same time.

The Idea

Primary used for agriculture, today´s the whole area of 1300 hectare is desiccated and unreclaimable because of water shortage. To reclaim the area again, the administration of collective confered the external investors a leasing of the land about 50 years for afforestation. Acutally there will be planted fast-growing birch trees on 660 hectare. Birchwood is often use as raw material for the paper- and furniture industry. The trees average gowing phase is about 5 to 6 years, before they get cut scheduled. After a relative short time new trees will grow again, based on the remained rootage.

Place Of Project

adjacent to Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Tadzhikistan, Kirgistan and Pakistan, lies the autonomic region Xin Jiang. Xin Jiang belongs to the less of chinas provinces, where still exists hugh useful areas.
